Unit 8: Powerful Practices
Out of the exercises we have practiced this term the two that I feel are the most beneficial to me are the Loving-Kindness exercise and the one we did this week A Taste of Human Flourishing. These two are the best for me because the Loving-Kindness one reminds me to find the love in me for everyone. We first did this exercise when I was having some issues with my parents and it did help me. I can use it whenever I am feeling like I am drifting from someone or if I do not like the way I am feeling towards someone such as aggravated or mad. The Taste of Human Flourishing exercise can help at many times. I can use it when I am feeling sad by using the happiness part, when I am feeling disconnected by using the wholeness part and when I am feeling ill or rundown by using the health part. Both of these exercises can help with my mental fitness.

Hi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI like the Loving-Kindness exercise as well. I think it was by far my absolute favorite.

Hello Leslie,
ReplyDeleteWhen I had wrote my post, I was not sure exactly which exercise would best help me with the recent stress I've encountered. Seeing how well the "Loving Kindness" exercise has helped you in your situation with your parents, I believe it will help me with the issues I am having too. :)
Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the Loving-kindness exercise was beneficial to you! I feel that is was one of the better two as well. I forgot about the practice from this week. I agree that it will help to uplift a person's spirit during a bad day.

Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI fill the same way about Loving-Kindness, I know I can meditate when I am about to have a panic attack and think positive thoughts and try to focus somewhere else besides the place that I am in. The anixety is not getting much better I even added St. Johns Wart to my vitamins in the morning, but this far have not seen any results.
